Hey guys,
I’m back again! As some of you may know I have attempted to enter the world of blogging before, in fact this is my third shot at producing regular blog posts!
Growing up I have never been a girly girl who was into hair,
make-up or fashion. I might have even gone as far as describing myself as a
Tomboy at times. I honestly do think that watching hours of tutorials on
YouTube and reading product reviews has helped me greatly.
I have always been fascinated with blogs and vlogs; just a
few years ago I would never have even known what they were until I stumbled
across Anna Saccone whilst searching for something on Google. I opened
up what was then ‘The Style Diet’ and had a quick read; I was instantly hooked.
Each time I logged on to read her latest post I would
discover a new blogger; this quickly lead me to YouTube! I’m sure there would
have been products I would never have discovered, methods of applying make-up
that I would never have used without you guys out there.
I decided that I wanted to give blogging a go myself. My
first attempt crashed pretty quickly. I struggled to find things to write about;
I constantly thought that nobody would be interested in what I had to say so I
gave up within a matter of weeks.
At the end of last year I made a New Year’s resolution to do
something that I had always wanted to do and that was blogging. I picked a name
for my account, set up my Twitter, Instagram and Blogger and uploaded my first
post.
My followers began to creep up slowly and I published more
and more blogs. I even built up the confidence to upload a video to YouTube
introducing myself (although I did take it back down pretty quickly!).
I slowly began to feel as though work and life were taking
over; I just couldn’t find the time to write no matter how hard I tried. Days went
by where I couldn’t even sit down with my laptop, eventually it came to a stop
altogether.
It made me really sad because I had met some fantastic
people through blogging, some of who I am still in touch now. I constantly talked
about starting to write again and in June I landed a new job which has given me
a lot more time to myself and is definitely a lot less stressful.
After some serious consideration I have decided to give ‘The
Shiny Pumpkin’ another go. I have planned how I want to do it this time around
and I’m hoping that my new job will make it a lot easier. I have managed to
get my younger sister involved too so I have an extra pair of hands if needs be.
The blogging/vlogging community truly is amazing and I
really do find it so much fun. I love seeing what people have been up to and
reading their opinions on various things. There is so much support out there
and everyone is super friendly and welcoming.
I can honestly say I’ve missed you guys and I cannot wait to
get back into the whole routine.
Thank you so much for reading; speak to you again very soon!
